Winter

In winter, a layer of glistening snow often covers the Capital City. Clothed in this white blanket, the city is a beautiful sight to behold. But just because winter has fallen does not mean Ottawa loses its momentum—quite the opposite, in fact.

Winterlude

Winterlude is a celebration of the beauty of winter in the Capital City. It usually takes place over the first three weekends of February, and features plenty of fantastic things to do.

From your suite at The Business Inn & Suites, you’ll be a short walk away from the incredible ice sculptures at Confederation Park. A moonlit stroll through the park is a breathtaking experience, as all the sculptures are lit with coloured lights that dance in their icy frames.

Rink of Dreams and Rideau Canal

While the Rink of Dreams and the Rideau Canal are especially good destinations during Winterlude, they are fun to visit even outside of the festival.

If you love skating, the Rideau Canal is for you. It is the world’s largest skating rink, and runs through downtown Ottawa, right near The Business Inn & Suites. You can spend the day skating its 7.8 kilometers. Be sure to grab a Beavertail while you’re out.

The Rink of Dreams is a skating rink located in front of City Hall, just blocks from The Business Inn & Suites. During Winterlude, the rink is filled with live DJ music.

Senators Games

And if you’d rather watch others skate, check out a Senators game while you’re in town. The Ottawa Senators are a fantastic team to watch, and their stadium, The Canadian Tire Centre, is accessible by Highway 417 and The OC Transpo Transitway, both just minutes from The Business Inn & Suites.
